The fad didn’t start in paris, but it’s certainly where it caught on the most. Most of it is pretty ordinary – cheap locks, no character – I even saw a few combinations locks! I mean, FFS!
This one was good though. Clearly someone had planned this, and gone to some trouble. Best of luck to them 🙂

It’s a big call, but it’s quite likely the best one in Paris. The chunks of deep fried eggplant absolutely make it!

As you wander around Lyon, it’s hard not to pick up a hunk of chees here, a loaf of bread there, some slices of beautiful ham, tomatoes, wine… before you know it, you’ve got a mini feast! 🙂

After a visit to the cathedral, it was next door for the real attraction. Le Fourvière came highly recommended, so we were looking forward to it. The view was stunning, the lunch was very reasonably priced for such a fine place.

One thing I really love about these old churches is the floor. The memeory of so many fleeting footsteps worn into the fabric of these magnificent buildings.

Yes, another church. Lots of marble columns and gold leaf, but they always cause you to hush and gaze upwards in wonder.
