Yes, another church. Lots of marble columns and gold leaf, but they always cause you to hush and gaze upwards in wonder.

We went looking for more of the Traboules of Lyon. Annoyingly, most of the doors were shut, even though many were marked on a tourist map. Just about the only one we found open was quite a long one, They are pretty amazing, and help make Lyon a multi layered city, that you can get to know over time. Would have loved to stay there a few more nights!

After a big day out, we were pretty tired, but felt like a wander, so just checked out the nearby neighbourhood. Rather pretty.

We were served the local fresh goats cheese at three ages. Only a few weeks between them, but amazing differences. My favourite was the middle one, but they were all great.

A friend of Sebastian’s family prepared a stunning lunch for us, as we enjoyed our drinks and soaked up the sunshine. The view was magnificent.

These were Gamay grapes. The only variety really grown in Beaujolais. They mostly make the famous light fruity reds, but also some whites. Not table grapes, but absolutely delicious all the same.

This was a typical passageway leading from the street to a courtyard. Cool, dark, and beautiful.

The tourist brochures will tell you that Vieux Lyon is laced with secret passages and courtyards. All you have to do is push a door to find your way into these private spaces. The reality was a little patchier than this, but we still found some amazing spaces.
