Certainly the sort of building which encourages you to tilt your camera at a funny angle 😉
Last friday, staff were invited to inspect the new Faculty of Architecture building. It reeks of … architecture!

An interesting break in the colour scheme. Is this a nod to the 80’s?
By the way, this shot was taken from a walkway where anything dropped will fall some 20m. onto whoever happens to be passing below. Does anyone else see a problem with that?

I particularly liked the internal windows, which connected spaces in the building – made it all feel quite porous.

The event started with lunch on the grass. Which would have been good, except that I saw a serving platter with a RAW chicken skewer on it. It was totally raw, hadn’t even seen the heat. I saw one of the catering people whisk it away, hoping nobody had seen it – as if! Anyway, It really put me off my hamburger, which was also close to raw in the middle. Food poisoning, anyone?

The skirt of the uniform has 400 pleats. One for each year of the Ottoman occupation. The greeks have not forgotten 🙂

Just below the Acropolis, the old suburbs of Athens are charming, and interesting.

The incredible accuracy, and mathematics behind this building. Yet, it was built in less than 9 years, and there were no plans – at least, not as we know them.

I learned about this building when I was at school. I was not prepared for the reality. It is absolutely awesome.
