Walked to work today, a perfect morning. This little swallow was picking off the early morning insects and enjoying the warming rays of sun.

This little lake is one of my favourite detours when I walk to work, or go for a run, or ride my bike. Really sad to think that this spectacular little spot could well be destroyed by a massive freeway right through the middle.

Who’d ever heard of a cute slug? He is all of 5mm tip to tail!
Home grown vegies are such a joy! I love going out to the back yard to grab a handful of spinach or whatever, though usually you bring in a bit of extra protein.
This little guy was so tiny, I wanted to photograph him on my finger for scale, but with him being so tiny, depth of field being so short, and managing the camera one handed, it was hard to get a good shot.

A good runner is an absolute joy to watch, and the undisputed best runner of the weekend was Duer Yoa, who completed the 32k. in 01:45:05
Here, he floats past the start/finish line in Currie, with just a couple of km to go. Damned impressive!

The middle of King Island is not terribly exciting – rolling farmland. However, the rocky wet bits around the outside are amazing!

We spent the weekend on King Island for the Imperial 20 Race. Some time was found to explore the nearby beaches. Would have been perfect except for the hordes of very hungry March flies!

There is something about the Australian sense of humour that I love. many cultures do self-deprecation prettty well, but Aussies seem to be able to fly closer to that line than most. And King Islanders can fly closer than most Aussies!
A series of delightful hand painted posters greet visitors arriving at Currie Airport, this one would have to be my favourite. A blend of kitsch and seriousness that leaves the viewer in awe.
I just says, King Islanders don’t care, and comes backed by the confidence of superiority.

Every time we visit the Prom, I end up taking sunset photos from Norman Beach. I am unrepentant.
