Such a surreal place, with this waterfall just dropping off the edge of the valley opposite, the braided, blue glacial river, the incredible rocky mountain tops… amazing.

We’d climbed a fair way, but still had a good way to go. The valley was just amazing – destination on the left side, opposite the top of the waterfall.

The first part of our overnight hike. We started at Gries, somewhere right down the bottom of that valley.

Descending into Sölden on the gondola, noticed this insane MTB track. Bridges being repaired, so out of action at the time.

Bearbel brought this for her morning tea, but generously gave it up for us to try. Amazing light yeasted dough filled with dobs of jam. Spectacular.

A good haul from the forests of Tirol. The orange ones are Pfifferling (Chanterelle), and the big ugly brown ones are Steinpilz (Porcini). Both are delicious.

Tirol favourite. Essentially spinach ravioli smothered in melted butter and grated parmesan. Excellent!

A bunch of tourists checking us out as we climb out from under them. You do get a great view of climbers from the observation platform.
